Essay
It's important to acknowledge that since our world has started this climate changes, scientists have been investigating to know the reason. This is happening because of the human activities that are damaging our planet, we are producing global warming. In my opinion, global warming is not the most important problem we have but it is producing the major environmental issues we have. This topic is really important and affects the whole world, people should be informed about this because if everyone knows then everyone can help to stop it. I will examine arguments for and against this topic from different points of views and then I will draw a conclusion about it.
It is important to mention that, according to Tim Falla and Paul Davies(2012), we have relied on things like fossil fuels which poured a lot of CO2 in the atmosphere, this was a cause of Global warming, and global warming has produced major problems like climate change, and climate change is producing more problems in people's life, like extreme temperatures ruining different plantations, diseases are increasing, etc.
A davidsuzuki.org(N/D) article said that climate change/global warming deniers say "The global climate is getting warmer, but not because of human activities ". That said, according to Anup Shah(2013), it's the opposite, he even says it is true that greenhouse effect is natural but it is creating climate changes because of the carbon dioxide we have been generating and it has been accumulating in the atmosphere, thanks to this it is holding much more heat than needed and eventually it will make life for humans, plants and animals in the earth "harder". In other words, the earth is becoming less habitable.
"The global climate is actually getting colder", another argument of a global warming denier and only a really ignorant person would believe it. Global warming is an irrefutable issue, it is happening and it has been produced by us, scientist have done enough investigations and it has been proved that the earth's atmosphere is full of carbon dioxide that is containing heat from the sun, so this is producing climate changes. According to Anup Shaw (2013), in some places this has been extreme, and it is not just warmer, it might be colder too.
Considering all this, I would say that global warming is a really controversial issue and we should start caring about it before it becomes unstopable. Eventually it will create more problems and we will be in a difficult situation. I am against the idea that global warming is our most significant environmproblem, but I think it is creating the most important problems that we have. We won't be able to change our energy resources in one day, but we can start making a change individually and make less damage to the world.

Opinion Essay
Topic: Global warming is the most significant environmental problem facing us today.(agree or not)
It's important to acknowledge that since our world has started this climate changes, scientists have been investigating to know the reason. This is happening because of the human activities that are damaging our planet, we are producing global warming. In my opinion global warming is not the biggest problem we have but it is producing the biggest environmental problems we have. This topic is really important and affects the whole world, people should be informed about this because if everyone knows then everyone can help to stop it. I will examine arguments for and against this topic from different points of views and then I will draw a conclusion about it.
It is important to mention that, according to the solutions book essay, we have relied on things like fossil fuels which poured a lot of CO2 in the atmosphere, this was a cause of Global warming, and global warming has produced major problems like climate change, and climate change is producing more problems in people's life, like extreme temperatures ruining different plantations, diseases are increasing, etc.

Climate Change and Global Warming Introduction. November 11,2013. Anup Shaw
Site: http://www.globalissues.org/article/233/climate-change-and-global-warming-introduction#WhatisGlobalWarmingandClimateChange
This source explains what is global warming and why it is causing climate changes, it shows the effects that they are producing in the world. It also explains how this is different from similar things that have happened in the past. It has different graphs about CO2 dangerous emissions in the world, it compares global temperature from the 1900's and today. It says where global warming is going, the impacts of global warming in our world and our lives, also extreme weather events on the world, and ecosystem impacts. Problems in agriculture, diseases are increasing and a lot of problems that are happening due to climate change. The countries that are being affected the most, greenhouse gas emissions that have been increasing dangerously. How warming is happening faster than predicted. I think this is useful because it explains global warming and climate change in a lot of aspects.
Climate change deniers.
Site: http://www.davidsuzuki.org/issues/climate-change/science/climate-change-basics/climate-change-deniers/
This site talks about climate change deniers, they deny that global warming and climate changes and all the things that they are causing. In the past they just said that global warming wasn't real, that the global climate is actually getting colder and a lot of things not scientifically proved. Some of them say that it is happening but not because of human activities. But now after years of scientific research some of them say it is happening but the cost to fix it is too high, so their tactics are changing to convince people that it's not something real or it will be really hard to fix it or that we are not causing it. This is useful because it shows what people is saying about this topic and how without any scientific support they say it is fake.

Screenplay: Gladiator
After Commodus leaves the arena, feeling humilliated and ashamed of himself, he goes inside and talks to one of his advisers to find a way to solve this problem...
Commodus: I can't believe what they made me do... I would've killed him right there!
Adviser: But Sir... You did what you had to do to avoid everyone hating you or even doing a rebellion for killing their "hero".
Commodus: I know... But it made me look weak, it made them realize they could control me.
Adviser: Don't worry about that, they haven't done anything yet and they won't...
Commodus: I already know that but how can I make them respect me? They should fear me, I can kill them if I want... But today they were controlling me, that's not how Rome works! The Emperor controlling the people is the right thing...
Adviser: You can't kill him, that would just make everyone angry, it can compromise your life, if you want to do something, you must set it up so it looks like something you didn't plan, an "accident", maybe a battle between slaves where you order everyone to kill him, he will die in battle and no one will know you planned it.
Commodus: Actually... It is a good plan, I just need to set things up and I wouldn't have to kill him... No one will think it was me... So there will be no rebellion, great idea... I will start planning everything right now so it is done as soon as possible.
Commodus leaves.

Technology Story
Cristina used to be addicted to technology, she was always using her phone or her iPad, anything that she could use to be connected to internet. She usually used those things to play, listen to music, etc. She wouldn't talk or hear anyone while using those things.
That's only the beginning of her addiction, she would get newer and better things every week, and she wouldn't stop using them, it even got to the point where she would cry if her mom took her things away, she would get so angry at her that she would start destroying their house if she didn't get her things back.
Three weeks ago she went to Mibzar's house because they had homework to do. Cristina was playing and she would ignore Mibzar the whole time, and while Mibzar worked she did nothing to help her. Finally Mibzar erased Cristina's name from their work so at the next day she had a 1.
Two weeks ago she had a family dinner, she was using her computer while eating, and it was totally normal to her. At the same time her grandmother was doing a huge effort trying to talk to her which was really difficult due to her lack of communication. Her grandmother after trying for hours to talk to her got really upset and made a technological soup.... When cristina saw this she went to the kitchen, grabbed a knife and killed herself.

Rationale
It was written with a serious tone and hopes to address the Prime Minister. In my letter, I tried to present my point of view with phrase like “I am particularly concerned that there will be no charges for the soldiers who shot innocent civilians” and “In addition to that, any soldier that is prosecuted, would not spend a day in jail due to the good friday agreement.”. I tried as well to use a sophisticated level of vocabulary with word choices like "prosecute“ and “agreement” finally I tried to use complex structures like one might see in a higher level publication such as The New York Times with sentences like “Furthermore, everyone... " and “It is for these reasons...”. Using these elements I feel I reached my purpose set out in the task. This task addresses the topic “Taking a Stand” and specially addresses the topic of the abuse of power. I think a letter of protest helped me to best express what I learned from the topics we studied in this unit and how I feel about them

Dear Mr. Cameron,
I am writing to protest against what happened in 1972, what everyone calls "bloody sunday", that was a tragedy in Northern Ireland, where 26 civilians that were protesting unarmed and not hurting anyone and they were shot by british soldiers, and 13 died during the incident.
I am particularly concerned that there will be no charges for the soldiers who shot innocent civilians in that awful day, because they were just protesting not even carrying a single weapon and soldiers just started shooting. This wasn't just something that happened, it had consequences , this lead to increased violence for some years in Northern Ireland.
In addition to that, any soldier that is prosecuted, would not spend a day in jail due to the good friday agreement.
The public prosecution service said that they needed to have enough evidence to prove something that happened 38 years ago, whic is a hard job. But I think there's enough evidence if they were given a report with it from more than 900 witnesses, 2,500 written statements and 60 volumes of written evidence.
Also the soldiers gave no warning at all, they just came out to the street, started shooting, another reason to prosecute them, they can't start shooting because they wanted to and giving no warning or reason at all.
Furthermore, everyone has rights and those rights must be respected, if we don't respect them, we can't live in a society together because we would be constantly hurting others or doing bad things to each other.
It is for these reasons that I want you to take every necessary measures to make a better society, a fair society, by prosecuting everyone who deserves and not just forgiving them, so we can have a better world. Everyone should respect the law and every other person in our society.
Your Sincerely,
Carlos Oyarce

Bloody Sunday prosecution charges 'unlikely' (summary)
The british government apologised for the army's actions after a report that took 12 years to complete.
The report concluded that the soldiers gave no warning before opening fire against unarmed persons. This report had information from 921 witnesses, 2,500 written statements and 60 volumes of written evidence. Northern Ireland's public prosecution service said it was considering whether to prosecute anyone or not.
Public Prosecution service will consider the report to determine the nature and extent of any police enquiries and investigations required to enable informed decisions to be taken.
Due to the Good Friday agreement, any soldier that is prosecuted , will not spend a day in jail.
Wriggle room remains for prosecutions, for civil lawsuits for retired soldiers, particularly because some of the lied to the Saville inquiry. The Saville inquiry was an investigation for this case.
The final bill was estimated at nearly 200 million pounds, making it the most expensive inquiry in British legal history.

Miss Carla should get new speakers for the English class.
Responsible department: ICT department
The English department does listening tests every period. But there are some situations they don't consider.
-We can't listen everywhere in the class.
-The speakers they use are the ones included in the computer or a really bad black speakers, both make it hard to listen. You can only understand what the people in the video are saying only if you are at 10 cm from the speakers.
-If the school gets new speakers we would be able to get better results in the listening tests.
-The school could use them to watch videos that afford important things to the class.
Everyone in the school would get benefits for this new speakers that we need a lot.

Chapter 5 Questions.
4) Why does the dining hall at Pencey serve steak on Saturday nights? Why is this reason typical of Pencey in general, at least at Holden perceives it?
A: They serve steak on Saturday nights because on sunday a lot of parents went to the school and they would probably ask their children what they ate last night, basically to give a good impression about the school.
5) What does the fact that Holden invites Ackley to the movies show about Holden’s personality?
A: It shows he is a friendly person, he's nice to others even if he doesn't like them a lot.
6) Why doesn’t Holden throw the snowball?
A: Because everything looked so nice and white, he didn't want to ruin those things.
7) Does it surprise you that Holden writes the composition for Stradlater? Why do you think he does it?
A: It did surprise me because why would anyone do others work just because they didn't want to, but I think he did it because he didn't have anything better to do.
8) Why is Holden “not too crazy about describing rooms and houses” (38)?
A: Because they didn't mean anything to him, they were boring things.
9) Compare and contrast Allie and Holden, based on Holden’s description of his younger brother.
A: Allie was really smart and a really good person, he never got mad, but Holden wasn't smart, he was kicked out because he wasn't good at school.
10) What words and actions demonstrate how Holden feels about Allie? List at least two examples.
A: When he broke every window in the garage and his hand while doing it, because he was angry about Allie's death. And also the way he talks about Allie, he describes him as a wonderful person, for example "It wasn't just that he was the most intelligent member in the family. He was also the nicest, in lots of ways." also "God, he was a nice kid though"

3.-Stop pollution, protect the diversity of natural life and the atmosphere, and pursue a nuclear-free world.
4.- Environmental problems lead to the emergence of international organizations such as greenpeace because some people were interested in the cause and they decided to get more people to support the cause too but for that they must get more people and more than a country, because a country isn't enough, everyone must cooperate. Also creating the organization and making it popular, they influence more people.

Retarded Nomo
Once upon a time there was a man whose wife was brutally murdered by a serial killer and his son is left phisically disabled.
The man whose name was Joseph and his son Nomo are two normal fishes that live in the pacific ocean near Australia. Nomo is a big fish! He goes to school alone every day and then he goes back home.
His father is a mess. He didn't want Nomo after the accident because he didn't like the idea of raising him on his own. Nomo is really unhappy with his dad but he has no other option than living with him.
One day when Nomo was going to his house, one of his friends invites him to a fast food restaurant, after having lunch they just started swimming and talking to each other. After walking for an hour, they realized they were lost.
His friend, Peeta says he know they right way but he really didn't. After another hour swimming they just went different ways every time but they just couldn't find a way home.
Meanwhile at Nomo's house Joseph hadn't noticed that Nomo was missing.
After two weeks Joseph noticed that Nomo wasn't at home and he sent a sea horse to find Nomo.
Finally the sea horse finds Nomo and brings him back to his house. But Nomo had a mental problem so he got lost about 60 more times.

The Secret Millionaire: Nadim Sadek's reflection
Nadim Sadek is a millionaire half Irish and half egyptian who owns a private island and takes advantages of the things it has to earn money. He participated in a program, "The Secret Millionaire", he went to Cork where he would find people to help them with some money.
Nadim went with a fake name, which was Liam, he gave money to people who deserved it, people who did things for others and didn't really do it for themselves.
In my opinion this program helps everyone even the ones who watch it, because people will get money and they will be able to invest it in their charities, they can make them better. Also it gives the people who donate the money to feel how helping others is, they get satisfied, they feel great and they help. And the ones that watch the tv program can realize about other people that may be having a bad time.
This program is great to help others, it can change people's life specially the ones who make an effort to help people in need.

A: Dr. Thurmer says that life has rules because it's a game, it means that Thurmer thinks he needs rules to continue his life, but Holden thinks that if you get on the side where all the hot-shots are, then it's a game, but if you get on the other side, where there aren't any hot-shots there's no game and it is nothing.
4.- Why does Holden leave Elkton Hills?
A: Holden leaves Elkton Hills because it was full of phonies, specially the headmaster. "One of the biggest reasons I left Elkton hills was because I was surrounded by phonies. Holden hates the headmaster and how he treated parents in different ways depending on how the were.
5.- Holden says "I'm quite young for mi age," and "I told him I was a real moron and all the stuff". What do these statements tell you about Holden?
A: It tells me that he was really inmature for his age and that he usually acted like a child. "I act quite young for my age sometimes" He constantly acted like a child and he didn't change at all, maybe he realised but didn't try to change even though everyone told him to, thing he hated.
6) why does Holden characterize himsellf as a liar at the beginning of chapter 3 ? what does he lie about? Why do you think he lies?
A: Holden introduces himself at chapter 3, telling us that he's "The most terrific liar you've ever seen in your life" and he says that he's lied to everyone, like "when somebody asks me where I'm going, I'm liable to say I'm going to the opera". Additionally he has lied to this teacher (old Spencer) too, telling him that he was going to gym. I think he lies because he doesn't trust anyone. As he classifies people in two groups, he doesn't have a good relationship with people so he thinks that he must carry himself.
7.-What is ironic about Holden's statement, "I'm quite illiterate but I read a lot" A: It's ironic because if he is illiterate that means he can't read but he reads what he likes. 8.-What is Holden's attitude / how does he feel about Ackley?
A: Holden thinks he is really annoying, he enters into Holden's room without knocking, he has a really poor hygiene and he never misses the opportunity to tell him that he is 18 years old and Holden just 16.
9.- How is Stradlater characterized according to Holden and Ackley?
A: According to Ackley he's got a supperior attitude all the time, that he thinks he is intelligent but he isn't. "The reason you're sore at Stradlater is because he said that stuff about brushing your teeth once in a while" So probably Ackley just doesn't like Stradlater and that's why he said that. Holden says he is completely different, he says that Stradlater is conceited but very generous in some things. Holden knew him better than Ackley did, also he liked him much more than Ackley did.
10.-Is feeling sorry for something the same as caring?
A: No, to feel sorry for something you need to care for it, if you don't care about a thing or someone you wouldn't feel sorry for it or you wouldn't even mind about it.
11.-What do you make of all the "phoniness"? Are Holden's claims alid or is he being phony?
A: PENDING
